Cisco UC320W Is Retired — Plan Your Replacement Now

The Cisco UC320W is end-of-life and no longer supported. We move small offices onto 3CX, hosted PBX or Webex — numbers kept, cutover planned, local team.

The Cisco UC320W (Cisco Unified Communications 320W for Small Business) is a retired product — Cisco stopped selling it years ago and no longer supports it, so it receives no firmware updates, bug fixes or security patches. If your small office still runs a UC320 or UC320W, it can keep making calls today, but it can't keep up with new carrier-SIP, security and interoperability requirements. SIP Connect moves you off it cleanly, onto a modern platform that costs less and does more.

The honest situation

The UC320W was the smallest, wireless all-in-one unit in Cisco's discontinued small-business UC line — a different beast from the larger UC500-series appliances (UC520, UC540, UC560). Cisco's last day to order the UC320W hardware was 20 January 2014, and support has since ended (reported as 31 January 2017). That matters because the platform is now past its Last Date of Support: it's stuck on its final firmware (version 2.3.2), Cisco issues no further patches, and replacement parts and repairs are no longer available from Cisco. There's no direct Cisco hardware successor — Cisco now points small businesses to cloud calling or SIP-based services instead. Your phones won't go dark overnight, but every month on an unsupported, un-upgradeable box shrinks your options and raises the odds of a rushed cutover.

Why move with a local team

To be clear, SIP Connect does not sell Cisco UC appliances — we specialise in migrating businesses off ageing, unsupported systems and onto something built for the next decade. We're vendor-neutral, so we recommend the platform that genuinely fits how you work rather than one we're locked to. We're also a 3CX Partner and an authorised Yealink reseller, so the handsets and software we put in front of you are known-good and properly supported. And when you call, you reach a real person in Greensborough — no offshore call centre, no robots. Our team brings over 80 years of combined industry experience, and customers rate us 5.0 on Google.

Your replacement options

We move UC320 and UC320W small offices onto the platform that actually suits them:

  • 3CX — feature-rich and cost-cutting, hosted or on-premise, and ideal for a small wireless office that wants softphones, mobile apps and desk handsets without proprietary appliance lock-in.
  • Hosted & cloud PBX — every business calling feature delivered over SIP trunks, with nothing on-site to maintain, patch or replace when the next box retires.
  • Microsoft Teams calling — if your team already lives in Teams, Direct Routing turns it into your phone system, with no SBC for you to manage. If you'd rather stay in a Cisco/Webex world, we can map you to Webex Calling too.

If you run other Cisco voice gear alongside the UC320W, our Cisco IP PBX support and migration page covers the bigger appliances, and our NEC migration work follows the same playbook. For the full picture, see the legacy phone system replacement hub.

A replacement planned to avoid downtime

We keep your existing numbers, plan the cutover around your trading hours, train your staff and switch you over cleanly — often live in days, not weeks. We handle the number porting and any 1300 or 1800 numbers so nothing drops. Coming off the UC320W is also the moment to stop overpaying: our bill reviews have identified savings of up to 65%.

One team for phones and the internet underneath

Because we also supply the connection your new system runs on — business NBN, gigabit fibre or 5G fixed wireless, with internet failover if you need it — the whole setup is tuned to work together, monitored 24/7 and backed by one local team. No finger-pointing between providers when something needs a hand.

Real Connections. Real Easy. Send us a recent bill and we'll show you exactly what a clean move off the Cisco UC320W looks like — and what it saves.

Frequently asked questions

Is the Cisco UC320W still supported?

No. The UC320W is an end-of-life product that Cisco no longer sells, and it's past its Last Date of Support (reported as 31 January 2017). It runs its final firmware, version 2.3.2, and gets no further firmware updates, bug fixes or security patches from Cisco — so it can't be brought up to date for new security or carrier-SIP requirements.

Does my UC320W have to be replaced right now?

It can still make and take calls today, so there's no need to panic — but there's no upside to waiting either. Because the platform is unsupported and can't be upgraded, the smart move is to plan now while you have choices. Talk to us and we'll assess your setup and give you a clear, no-pressure timeline.

What should a small office replace the UC320 with?

It depends on how you work. Most small offices land on 3CX or a hosted PBX over SIP trunks; if you live in Microsoft Teams, Direct Routing is a clean fit, and if you want to stay in the Cisco family, Webex Calling is an option. We're vendor-neutral, so we'll recommend the one that fits rather than the one that pays us most.

Will I keep my phone numbers and my Yealink-style handsets?

Yes to the numbers — we port your existing numbers so nothing changes for your callers. Many modern handsets carry across to the new platform too, and where new phones make sense we'll tell you why before you spend a cent. As an authorised Yealink reseller, we'll match the right handsets to your replacement system.
